How does it work?
In essence, forms filled in by the midwife at the point of care are captured electronically using minimal technology (a digital pen and a BlackBerry® Smartphone) and are transmitted securely to a server within the Trust.

But there's so much more - hand written notes and meeting minutes can be captured and saved for upload, there's no need to carry patient identifying data around on a laptop - therefore minimising opportunites for theft and data loss.
It also easily integrates with many of the leading maternity patient record systems and support for new systems is being added regularly.
